Review: Drawn: Dark Flight

“With a tremendously magical atmosphere and gripping story, Drawn: The Painted Tower was one of the most polished and enjoyable puzzle adventure games we’ve played in a long time. It set the bar very high for the casual gaming world, and few other titles have come close to delivering such an enchanting experience. We’re pleased to report the highly anticipated sequel, Drawn: Dark Flight is every bit as spectacular as the first game…and then some.”

Review: Ranch Rush 2

“Even for those who love what they do, everyone needs a break from the daily grind of work now and then. If a tropical getaway sounds like a blast right now, you’re not alone. After getting her hands dirty building up a bustling farmer’s market from scratch in order to save the ailing flower nursery she works in Ranch Rush, Sara sets her sights on some fun in the sun. Though her island getaway in Ranch Rush 2 isn’t entirely a work-free vacation, a trip to warmer climates brings with it some excellent new opportunities for fun in this highly enjoyable sequel.”

Review: Deep Blue Sea 2

“After working on the violent and mature themed Hitman game, two members of the development team switched gears and embarked on a journey into the casual gaming world by forming The Game Equation. Following a similar theme of change, the studio’s 2008 debut Deep Blue Sea blended match-three style gameplay with a tale about an advertizing executive named Jessica who ditches her day job to become a deep sea treasure hunter. Two years of polish and hard work have made their follow-up aquatic puzzle adventure all the more impressive.”

Review: Bob Came in Pieces

“Real dedication is when you love your job so much that you’re willing to travel across the surface of a vast alien world to find all the ship parts necessary to repair your damaged craft, rocket back into the cosmos, and then jet to work to punch-in on time. Even if such an extreme dedication to the nine-to-five grind work doesn’t ring as true with everyone, Bob Came in Pieces is still an intriguing indie game that blends exploration and problem solving puzzle elements with a strong physics engine and a lovely design to create a whimsical adventure.”

Reviews: Guns of Icarus

“Soaring high above the clouds with the sun beaming down and the wind in your face, it’s simply exhilarating to look out across the deck of your airship and marvel at the freedom that comes with piloting your own vessel capable of sailing the skies. But such moments of calm and tranquility are fleeting in Guns of Icarus, since heavily armed air pirates with itchy trigger fingers seem all-to-keen on swiping your cargo through brute force. And that’s when the excitement kicks in full throttle.”

iPhone Review: Tumbledrop

“The iPhone certainly has seen more than its fair share of physics-based block games, but none of them explode with cuteness and lovable personality quite like Tumbledrop. For a game that started out as a free flash demo, this brilliantly simple and intensely fun puzzle game couldn’t be possibly be any better suited for Apple’s portable touch-screen platform. Sending smiling little block creatures tumbling to their watery doom with a tap of your finger is a disarmingly cheerful task.”

Review: Super Granny 5

“When most grannies grow to the ripe old age where their momentum slows dramatically, their days tend to be filled with more relaxing pursuits like reading, playing cards, socializing, and napping. Not Super Granny. She gets to battle the forces of evil with blowtorches, jackhammers, and lethal handbags in order to round up her perpetually missing feline companions. Though it’s much like past games in the series, Super Granny 5 continues Sandlot Games’ fine tradition of lighthearted elderly empowerment and frantic platforming puzzle action.”

Review: Extreme Sledding

“Downhill sledding can be an exhilarating experience, if you like high speeds, snowy thrills, and chilly weather. But for those of us who prefer to avoid the cold and stay out of harm’s way, digital snowbound mayhem will suffice as a warmer, safer substitute. Muse Games’ Extreme Sledding certainly offers some virtual tree-lined slopes to haphazardly zip down on a rusty toboggan. Whether or not the game’s small handful of levels will deliver anything more than a few fleeting moments of fun really depends on how bored you are.”

“For five years, busybody waitress and restaurant entrepreneur Flo has been corralling customers and keeping their stomachs full of greasy goodness. But modern times have made the public more health-conscious and acutely aware of their rapidly expanding waistlines. Flo’s attempt to keep up with the changing times backfires in Diner Dash 5: BOOM! Judging from our recent hands-on time with the game, we can safely say the fifth main entry in the Diner Dash series is going to be the wildest and funniest yet.”

iPhone Review: Catan

“The island of Catan is a happening place. It’s a hopping chunk of land that’s so laden with resources that it has to beat settlers off with a big stick. Everyone wants to stake their claim to a major piece of this hexagonal floating rock in a quest for supreme colonial dominance, but they’ll have to plan their turf expansion and resource gathering very carefully if they want to come out ahead. Though it never quite comes to physical blows, this island competition can get pretty cutthroat in a hurry.”
